I took Nami and Fionna to attend Obon with my friend, Charles (who managed to get these fantastic photos), and his Kai Ken, Ren. Obon is a Japanese Buddhist festival that honors the spirits of our ancestors. It was a wonderful experience with lots of friendly people and amazing food.
Many people knew that Nami, Fionna, and Ren were "Japanese dogs", but no one knew what a Kishu was and only a couple (I encountered) knew what a Kai was, but everyone seemed pretty enamored with all three dogs and they all did a fantastic job with everyone. Of the two Kishu ladies, Fionna gets a little loud with small children, but she was never too obnoxious or inappropriate... but Nami really seemed to enjoy her time socializing and really shines around people of all sorts. She even got to dance with a little girl!
